Production control and logistics engineer

Location – Asheville, NC
Industry – Automotive 
Project Duration – 14 months with a possible extension  

EXPERIENCE –

  • 10+ years in Material Management
  • 10+ years of relevant supervisory experience
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing new set up and systems as related to warehouse, materials and inventory
  • SAP experience desired
  • Lean experience preferred

Responsibilities

    • Warehouse design planning and analysis
    • Responsible for Material flow design and analysis
    • Ensure Inventory Management principle on floor
    • Ensure inventory cost targets are met while developing action plans to reduce on hand inventory, in addition to attaining inventory accuracy
    • Ensure SAP is being utilized for full functionality in supplier planning, production scheduling, inventory and logistics across PC&L
    • Establishing business process and integration with SAP
    • Should have hand on experience with SAP on MM module
    • Developing storage layout design and planning
    • Determines resource requirements and analyze budgeting
    • Should involve actively with team in shifting machining, assembly and test equipment
    • Develop work instructions and related standard documents
    • Responsible for material presentation design
    • Identify and implementation of packaging improvement and cost optimization
    • Plan and track the shipments from External Warehouse to Plant
    • Ensure process stability and zero downtime on line
    • Ensure training to operators, team lead and PC&L team
    • Communicates effectively to all stakeholders including plant personnel, management, and external customers

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Materials Management.  MBA preferred
    • In-depth knowledge of materials and inventory systems, turns, and material movement
    • Knowledge in the following areas is must:
    • Project management
    • Warehouse design and set up
    • Material flow design
    • Inventory management
    • Trouble shooting
    • Problem solving
    • Lean strategies
