Job Description

A professional with 14 to 16 years of experience with Automotive and Auto Ancillary background. OEM experience preferred. Involved in packaging and containerization, in-plant logistics, and warehouse management.

Roles & Responsibilities

    In-plant logistics and Warehouse Management for Greenfield and Brownfield projects at Customer site

    1. Design Material storage space
    2. Storage layout design (Storage space calculation and Layout development)
      1. In-plant area (Dock, Staging, Stores, Supermarket, Lineside, etc.)
      2. Internal & External warehouse
      3. Distribution center
    3. Dock to Dock material flow design
    4. Design of Material delivery and Storage systems
    5. Storage options evaluation
    6. Storage method and Operational process definition & planning
    7. Material delivery strategy and method planning
    8. Material delivery route & man assignment planning
    9. Material call off systems
    10. Well versed with following processes and functional knowledge
      1. End to End Supply chain processes
    11. Value Stream Mapping concept and tools
    12. Lean principles and implementation methodologies
    13. Kaizen, 5S, Problem solving, Root Cause /5W analysis
    14. Business process mapping and Business case formulation
     Packaging and Containerization:
    1. Subject Matter Expert for Packaging and Containerization Design, Development, and Validation
    2. Support Global Customers (OEM’s) to Manage complete packaging lifecycle from design, development, validation, implementation to sustenance for Existing as well as NPI products
    3. Establish packaging standards and guidelines (Technical and Commercial specifications) for various customer products and manufacturing processes from inbound to outbound
      1. Develop line side material presentation strategy
      2. Packaging cost forecast and budgeting
    4. Responsible for Supplier collaboration in developing packaging and containerization for customers
      1. Supplier selection and development
      2. Supplier evaluation – Technical and Commercial (Packaging cost breakdown)
      3. Drive supplier reviews
      4. Drive Packaging sign off initiative internally as well as with external Supplier for customer
    5. Responsible for driving CIP (Continuous improvement) initiative in Packaging at customer sites
      1. Troubleshoot packaging issues
      2. Provide creative and cost-effective solutions
      3. Drive Packaging cost optimization initiative including Transportation, Storage and labor cost with Business case justification
      4. Packaging change management
    6. Responsible for development of end to end Container management process


    Education Required:

    • BE/B. Tech
    • MBA/ PG in Supply chain / Operations with Packaging diploma will be preferred
    Professional Experience:
    • Overall 14- 16 years of experience
    • Industry: Automotive and Auto Ancillary. OEM experience preferred
    • Function: Packaging and Containerization, In-plant logistics, Warehouse management
