Deep Dive Into Tesla’s 48-Volt Architecture

Automotive engineers have wanted to switch from a 12-volt electronic architecture to a more powerful one for decades, but Tesla were the first to fully take the plunge with their Cybertruck.

As vehicle benchmarking and teardown experts, we have completely mapped out the 48-volt system in the Tesla Cybertruck and used the Tesla Model Y for comparison.

Caresoft Global President, Terry Woychowski, takes John McElroy through some of the highlights of the 48-volt system and points out a few more fun easter eggs that we found along the way. The pair look at the massive potential cost savings of using this type of electrical system and give their predictions on how they think most automotive manufacturers will follow suit.
